Westerton
Primary Academy
Westerton Primary is an academy situated in an outer suburb of South Leeds.
The school building was built in 1988 and they currently teach 708 pupils.
After undertaking a lighting audit, to assess the viability of a potential project, it was identified that the current lighting solution was insufficient. Therefore a switchover to LED would be viable and make financial and environmental sense. When comparing their electricity bills with their current fluorescent light fittings compared to LED, there were clearly huge savings to be made.
Additional to monetary savings, there were huge savings made per year in carbon emissions, contributing to the UK’s push for carbon neutrality.
